Successful sale of FrunPark® Asten to Leasinvest Real Estate confirms the Frun®SHOPPING concept’s reputation


Bruges-Eindhoven, 14th November 2016 – The Frun®Retailpark in Asten, Austria, developed by De Vlier Retail Development and Focus Real Estate, was sold to Leasinvest Real Estate on 8th November 2016. This is yet another international success story for the innovative Frun® concept by De Vlier Retail Development, launched in 2000.

The acquisition is also an instant entry into the Austrian market for Leasinvest Real Estate, in addition to its existing investments in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Belgium and Switzerland.

FrunPark® Asten boasts an optimal location at the Asten-Sankt-Florian junction, near the town of Linz and 200 km from the capital of Vienna. It covers 18.300 m² with 26 shops and 600 parking spaces.

Retailpark Asten was completed at the end of 2013 and 100% of the site has been successfully let to a sparkling mixture of international and local chains, including C&A, Intersport, Spar, Action, Depot, Deichmann and Zeeman within that short period of time. FrunPark®Asten has created 225 jobs.

The Frun®SHOPPING concept: an architectural ensemble

The shopping centre is a striking example of the power of the Frun®SHOPPING concept, based on a well-balanced architectural ensemble and an integrated marketing approach, with specific attention devoted to the ecological aspect. For example, the roof is equipped with a photovoltaic system, resulting in the generation of more than 500.000 KWh of green energy on site every year, which leads to a reduction in CO² emissions of 400 tons per year. The shopping complex also includes a large number of E-Bike charging points.
